Baguni Hostel is a beautiful architecture with stylish design and interior that are pleasing to the eye. Each of the furniture and decor is carefully selected by an interior designer. Created by a florist, the garden is in perfect harmony with the surrounding nature. This environment-friendly structure ranked high in the Japanese comprehensive evaluation and commendation system “Good Design Award 2017.” Suncheonman Bay and Suncheonman National Bay Garden are approximately a 15-minute ride from the hostel, which is one of the reasons majority of the guests who frequent the hostel are in their twenties and thirties. Upon check-in, guests are given special coins that can be used to avail themselves of various rental services, pay for breakfast, toiletries, coffee, and draft beer, and rent a bicycle.

This open film set is located in Jorye-dong, Suncheon. It consists of three villages each representing a different era from the 1950s to the 1970s.
A great place to revisit the past, as I mentioned earlier, is the Suncheon Open Film Location. Located in the neighborhood of Jorye-dong, the set was created for movies and dramas in 2006 and is now a popular attraction.
The village is split between three eras: 1950’s Suncheon, 1960’s Seoul Bongcheong-dong village, and 1970’s Seoul suburb.
The whole course probably takes an hour or two of meandering, and it’s fun to see my generation running around taking photos in costume. It has to be a little surreal for the older generation who actually lived these sets to see their kids and grandkids reliving their own past! I think my favorite was seeing all the halmonis and harabeogis dancing to some golden Korean oldies in the set’s discotheque.

Just tell them, Suncheon Deu-rah-ma Seh-teu or show them the Korean written down. It’s one of the big things to do in Suncheon, and it sounds the same in English. It’s less than 15-minutes from the Bus Terminal and should only be around 6,000 KRW (~$6) depending on traffic.

Take Bus no. 71, 77, 99-1, 777 from the Bus Terminal and take off at 기독재활원, roughly 10 min. away on foot.
or Take Bus no. 777 from the Bus Terminal and take off at 드라마촬영장, roughly 7 min. away on foot.
