It was built by Schieleiman I for his son Sehzade mehmed who died in 1543.
It is also called prince's mosque.
Design was designed by senior royal architect Mimar Sinan. Mosque is known to be first large scale structure to be faithful
to the Ottoman turks of Sinan's achievements. It is very large and height of dome ceiling of worship room is 37m and 19m in diameter.
White and light red marble were used as main building materials, and two spires boast a very colorful appearance
with geometric patterns.
