This is the actual house where Jean-Jacques Rousseau, one of the most influential Enlightenment thinkers, lived in 1756-1757. He wrote parts of his major works like Julie, or the New Heloise here. It’s not a big museum, more like a historical house but that makes the visit intimate and easy to digest in an hour.

When you are told that design is everywhere in Saint-Etienne, it is also because it is in the city's DNA. Saint-Etienne has always been inventing. Firearms, that we know, but also looms, textiles and bicycles. And yes, this is where the very first bicycle was invented. With your head in the handlebars and three collections later, you are unbeatable on Sainté. At the very least, the link between its industrial past and its ambitions for tomorrow holds no secrets for you.
Each quarter, the Museum publishes its event program. We give you an overview: surprise visit, flash visit in 15 minutes chrono, theater, escape game, film screening and above all various and varied workshops (for children from 4 years old, siblings, family or adults).
When it reopens, you will be able to discover a new space dedicated to bicycles and commerce! This theme will allow you to better understand, via an interactive digital device, how leading companies in the area are pioneers of local commerce or mail order sales. Visitors will also be able to follow the export of Saint-Etienne products around the world, since the 17th century.

The Musée Bartholdi is a museum dedicated to French sculptor Auguste Bartholdi and is situated at 30 rue des Marchands in Colmar, at the artist's birthplace. The museum has the "Musée de France" label. In 2011, the building was labeled "Maisons des Illustres" by the Ministry of Culture and Communication. In the courtyard there is a statue named Statue des grands soutiens du monde. Two doors of the 17th century were registered as a monument historique on 18 June 1926. In 2012, the museum numbered over 16,000 visitors.
This monument would honor the United States' centennial of independence and the friendship with France. French sculptor Auguste Bartholdi supported de Laboulaye's idea and in 1870 began designing the statue of "Liberty Enlightening the World."

On the first floor, the industrial production and the current chocolate are highlighted. The atmosphere, animated like a Cabaret-show, is very festive thanks to the sounds and the plays of light. You will discover how the chocolate makers proceed today to realize their greedy creation.
