Fire fuels the food at Soot -- a newly minted fine casual gastropub near Seoul’s Garosugil that had its soft opening earlier this month.
Grilled chicken, brined in buttermilk, is paired with a veloute sauce redolent of cumin, nutmeg and fenugreek seeds. Roasted pumpkin seeds add crunch to a dish that marries velvety, succulent and crispy textures with intense hits of salinity and spice.
Then there is Soot’s pork belly, which fuses a puffed, crackly exterior reminiscent of fried pork rinds with a silken, unctuous mouthfeel.

The steak is then served, sliced with pureed potatoes and garlic confit, sans sauce.
As befits a dining pub, Soot offers wine, spirits, draft beer and whiskey highballs.

This food joint is not a franchise, so you can only get to try their delicious chicken at one place. It is located right between the Apgujeong Station and Sinsa Station at Garosu-gil.
This is more of a spot where you come after work to have a beer with friends and try their mouth-watering fried food.
The main item on the menu at Hanchu is Fried Chicken (17,000Won, SGD$20.60) and Seasoned Chicken (19,000Won, SGD$23.05).
The restaurant also serves a section of items such as Deep Fried Chilli Pepper (15,000Won, SGD$18.20), Deep Fried Chicken Gizzard (15,000Won) Deep Fried Squid (15,000Won), Stir-Fried Rice Cake (15,000Won), Rolled Omelette (15,000Won) and an intriguing sounding Spicy Sea Snails Salad with Noodles (18,000Won, SGD$21.80).

“Rotating Beer selection; good pizza dough"
You can only get Art Monster beer here, no imports or bottles, but we really didn’t miss it. Their selection is one of the most interesting we’ve seen from craft breweries, mostly focusing on German and Belgian styles with uncommon flavors. Unfortunately 4 of their 10 beers were sold out, so we only got to test the remaining 6. With generous tasters, great variety and low prices, the taster set is absolutely the way to go here.
In addition to a great and rotating beer menu, Art Monster also has a fine-looking pizza selection. We got three pizzas (for four people), which made for a decent-sized dinner. The pizza dough was delicious, although a tad soft, and the toppings were tasty and fresh. The King Brie cheese was very rich in flavor, as was the pepperoni, and their signature Pizza Artmonster was almost like eating a fresh salad with some bread and cream cheese.

Bonjour Hawaii is an exotic fusion restaurant. Just by looking taking a glance at parasol rooftop which is by its main entrance, you can tell that the restaurant exudes exotic atmosphere/mood. The interior, small details, and the traditional Hawaiian music will have you mistaken that, in fact, you are at a cafe in Hawaii somewhere. It’s main dishes include, “BBQ Sunset Platter,” (It is a dish that has a set of ingredients: sausage, potato, chicken kebab, shrimp, Korean style pork), and “Cream Curry Udon,” which is just one of its many unique dishes on Bonjour Hawaii’s menu. Also, a pizza so addicting that it is nicknamed, “Drug Pizza,” is its specialty pizza called, “Sushi Pizza,” together with a fruit punch cocktail, you do not have to be jealous of someone who just went on a trip to Hawaii.
Through the restaurant’s appearance in the drama, “Doctors,” it created curiosity in the viewer’s mind. Since after the appearance it has become Hongdae’s, “hot place
