Jeongdongjin is Korea’s favorite sunrise spot. Many people choose to take the night train to Jeongdongjin to catch the morning sunrise.
Sea train travels 58km along the Eastern seaside from Gangneung Station to Samcheok Station.
The train departs Gangneung Station, stops at Jeongdongjin, Mukho, Donghae, Chuam, Sancheok Beach, and arrives the final destination, Samcheok Station.

Jeongdongjin gets its name from the word jeongdong, which means due east in Korean, as it is exactly due east from Seoul's Gwanghwamun Gate.
