Located in Bosu-dong, Jung-gu, Busan, the Bosu Book Street was created when Busan became a temporary capital during the Korean War. The history of Bosu Book Street began when a couple of evacuees from North Korea opened a street stall, laying boxes and putting various magazines and old books on them. When many evacuees settled in Gukje Market and had a hard life after the end of the war, students and intellectuals could not find books even though they wanted to study. As a result, used bookstores in the street became successful, and as more and more other evacuees opened new used bookstores, today’s book alley was formed.
As each store has so many books, those stacked on the floor occupy both sides of the narrow alley. In the middle of the street, which seems to be only full of books, a steep staircase catches your eyes. It connects the Bosu Book Street with the Mural Village, but it is better known as a place for photography.

The steep wall of the Jeoryeong Coastal Trail is a unique view of the village, where you can see small houses clustered along the narrow alley formed by the coast at the end of the cliff. This is where the sorrowful lives of refugees began and where the current cultural village community of Huinnyeoul Culture Village has been established.
Huinnyeoul-gil, the representative original downtown center of Busan, was named after the current of water at the foot of the Bongnaesan Mountain that resembles the white falling snow. In December 2011, the old house was remodeled and renovated into a unique Culture and Art Village that reflects the life in Yeongdo.
Huinnyeoul-gil consists of 14 alleys as well as cozy cafés, workshops, and independent bookstores. The ocean breeze enters the slow-paced alleys, and the greenery between rocks add relaxation to daily life. One of the must-visit places on Huinnyeoul-gil is the Huinnyeol Jeomppang, where you can enjoy the best ramen noodles while gazing at the vast ocean. A moment of peace enters the mind as you enjoy your meal after a long day of walking. The end of the road connects to the Jeoryeong Coastal Trail once again and reunites with travelers who walked between the cliffs and the lands below.
