1981: Construction of the shopping center began as part of the U.S. military's efforts to provide recreational facilities for their personnel stationed in Okinawa. 1984: American Village opened to the public, featuring a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
Take bus number 28 or 29 from Bus Stop 3 at the Naha Bus Terminal to Mihama American Village Iriguchi. It takes about 40 minutes. By car, it takes about 30 minutes driving north on Route 58.

The easiest is to get to Naha (take the express 58) and follow the signs for Kokusai Street. Turn left off of the 58 onto the 42, and then turn left on the second light (this puts you right on Kokusai)
