A cafe nestled quietly with an old-fashioned atmosphere that blends in with the great nature of the headquarters. At the terrace seats on the second floor, you will not only be greeted by the atmosphere of an old folk house, but also by the unique Shisa statues. You can spend a relaxing time enjoying the changing nature of the four seasons and almost forgetting the passage of time. Hirayachi (Okinawa-style okonomiyaki) made with seasonal vegetables and espresso made with mineral-rich local natural water are popular.

Once you step inside, you can’t help but notice the wooden spoons and pottery that graced the entrance while you take off your shoes to walk on the smooth wood floors, making it clean enough for toddlers to crawl on the floor, and this they do in pairs, such is the popularity of this cafe with young families and sea changers escaping from Tokyo and other big cities on the mainland.
The menu here feature locally sourced vegetarian dishes and while there are only half a dozen choices, most come in sets consisting of five or so different plates in a tasting menu sized serving.
The one hour drive on the motorway north from Naha, with views of verdant subtropical mountains, and glimpses of the tranquil blue seas, is the perfect way to meditate and take in the country air on the way to Cafe Koku.

Located on the northwest corner of Motobu Peninsula, just 10 minutes by walk from Ocean Expo Park and Churaumi Aquarium, Bise Fukugi Tree Street is a pictureque and peaceful area made of traditional houses and old streets lined with approximately 20,000 tall trees.
Both sides of these special streets are delimited by Fukugi, a tree with thick leaves that is very resistant to fire. The characters of the word "Fukugi" mean "Good Luck Tree", and the reason is probably related to its properties. Being the island of Okinawa often hit by strong winds and typhoons in summer, and monsoons in winter, locals decided to plant this tree in the whole village, to get a protection against these natural dangers. The Fukugi tree is very resistant to wind, but has one problem: it grows very slowly. For this reason, residents did not get the benefits until 300 years later. It was a thoughtful act, to protect future generations.

Sesoko Island is a stone’s throw from the western coast of Okinawa’s main island, connected by Sesoko Bridge (762 m). The island’s circumference is just eight kilometers.
Sesoko beach is an 800-meter-long natural sand beach with shallow, crystal-clear water, located on Sesoko Island -- a small island connected to Okinawa's main island by a bridge. About 500 meters offshore lies an expanse of beautiful coral reef, which is accessible on foot at low tide. Ie and Minna islands are clearly visible from the beach. Although this is the most popular beach on Sesoko Island among tourists and families with children, there are many other pristine natural beaches around the island, and they are recommended for those looking to immerse themselves in a more magnificent natural setting.

The Nakijin Castle Ruins are located on the Motobu Peninsula of northern Okinawa Honto and are among the UNESCO World Heritage designated Castles of the Ryukyu Kingdom. In contrast to other castles on Okinawa, Nakijin Castle stands in an area of low population density with lush forests, that bestow the ruins with a unique atmosphere.
Nakijin Castle was built in the late 1200s. During the Sanzan Period (1322-1429), Okinawa Honto was divided into three kingdoms: the Hokuzan in the north, the Chuzan in the middle and the Nanzan in the south. Nakijin served as the castle of the Hokuzan king until it was taken over by the Chuzan on their way to unifying the island and forming the Ryukyu Kingdom.
Besides the castle ruins stands the Nakijin Village History and Culture Center with a small museum displaying items unearthed on the castle grounds, such as Chinese pottery, coins and documents. There are also exhibits about everyday life and culture of Nakijin Village.
The Nakijin Castle Ruins are located on the Motobu Peninsula in northern Okinawa Honto, about 90 kilometers from Naha, and about a ten minute car ride from the Ocean Expo Park.
By direct bus from Naha
The Yanbaru Express directly connects the airport and city center of Naha with Nakijin Castle. Get off at Nakijinjōshi-iriguchi (今帰仁城跡入口), from where it is a 15-20 minute walk uphill to the castle ruins. The one way trip takes about 2.5 hours and costs 2000-2100 yen. Buses operate roughly every two hours. In central Naha, the bus stops at the Prefectural Office (県庁北口, Kenchō Kitaguchi) and Tomari Port among other locations.
By bus from Nago
Bus line numbers 65 or 66 run counterclockwise and clockwise respectively in a loop around the Motobu Peninsula. Get off at Nakijinjōshi-iriguchi (今帰仁城跡入口, 45-60 minutes, 800 yen from Nago Bus Terminal, 1-2 buses per hour), from where it is a 15-20 minute walk uphill to the castle ruins. The counterclockwise line 65 is faster from Nago to the castle, while the clockwise line 66 is faster in the opposite direction.
By car
By car, take the Okinawa Expressway from Naha all the way to its northern end near Nago (1040 yen one way) and then follow regular roads across the Motobu Peninsula to the Nakijin Castle Ruins. In total, the journey takes about two hours one way (more during rush hours).

As its name indicates, Heart Rock is a heart-shaped rock that has become an extremely popular sightseeing spot and a symbol of Kouri Island. After being featured in a commercial for Japan Airlines along with a popular idol group, it became well-known and despite being a small island, has been flooded with tourists ever since.
Heart Rock is located at Tinu Hama Beach on the northern side of Kouri Island, directly opposite from Kouri Bridge – the entrance to the island.
The beautiful shape was caused by erosion over the years, and does seem to resemble a heart. When facing the sea during low tide you may even be able to see one more heart-shaped rock.
