Juknokwon is a bamboo grove visible immediately to the left after passing the Hyanggyo School, which borders Gwanbangjerim and Damyangcheon, the source of the Yeongsan River. Damyang County developed the Seongansan area and opened it in May 2003. At the entrance of Juknokwon, climbing the stone steps one by one helps loosen your stiff body, and the gentle breeze blowing through the bamboo brings a refreshing feeling to your tired mind and body. Also, walking along the densely packed bamboo forest path while listening to the crisp rustling of bamboo leaves, it feels refreshing to feel the sunlight pouring down through the green bamboo leaves with your whole body. Inside Juknokwon, jukrocha (bamboo dew), which grows by eating dew falling from bamboo leaves, grows naturally. After enjoying the bamboo bath, you can relax your mind with a cup of bamboo tea. Additionally, Juknokwon features a 2.2 km walking trail where visitors can enjoy bamboo forest bathing. It consists of eight themed paths, including the Path of Great Fortune, the Path of Bamboo Friends, and the Philosopher\'s Path, with the walking trail starting from Juknokwon Observatory. From the observatory, you can see Damyangcheon, the Damyang Gwanbangjerim (made up of ancient trees over 300 years old), and the famous Metasequoia tree-lined street of Damyang. There is an ecological exhibition hall, artificial waterfall, ecological pond, and outdoor performance hall, and lighting has been installed in the bamboo grove for nighttime walks.

It is well known among hiking enthusiasts as part of the Yeongnam Alps, famous for its silver grass plains dyed red at sunset, and especially during the autumn foliage season, crowds of hikers form even on weekdays. There are various ways to access it, but using the forest road from the Yangsan Baenaegol side is the safest. Commonly called the Deer Farm Course, it takes about 1 hour 30 minutes ~ 2 hours one way. It takes a bit longer, but there's almost no slope. In fact, you can easily get there wearing just sneakers, and it's easy enough for families to come.

The place name Haemi(海美), meaning 'beautiful sea,' has been used since the Joseon Dynasty. In 1416, King Taejong was conducting a river dance at Dobisan in Seosan, then stayed a day at Haemi to explore the surrounding area. Judging that the area was suitable for effectively defending against Japanese pirates appearing along the coast, he chose it as a site for relocating the Chungcheong military camp from Deoksan, completing construction from 1417 (the 17th year of King Taejong) to 1421 (the 3rd year of King Sejong).
Later, the Chungcheong Byeongyeong, the highest command institution of the Chungcheong Army, was located in Haemi, and the Byeongma Jeoldosa was assigned to command the entire army. In 1651, the Chungcheong Byeongyeongyeong was relocated to Cheongju, ending its role as the military fortress of the Chungcheong Military Governor. Later, the Hoseo Left Command, one of the five camps in Chungcheong Province, was established, and military commanders were dispatched as commanders to concurrently serve as Left Commander of Hoseo Iseong and as Haemi County Magistrate, thus serving as the town fortress (yeupseong)*.

The Hantan River Columnar Joint Trail is a walkway installed in the middle of a vertical cliff inaccessible to people, originating from a path in Chinas rugged mountainous regions where wooden planks were laid on cliffs. The walkway, suspended on a cliff about 20~30 meters above the surface, winds along the stream. You can start from either Sundam Gate or Derni Gate where you prefer, and after passing Durni Gate and walking a few steps, you can take in the scenery of the Hantan River valley at a glance. The vertical cliffs stretching like folding screens along the S-shaped flow of the Hantan River and the cascading waterfall above all blend together, capturing the viewer's attention. The beginning is easy, with continuous downhill stairs, but the well-maintained pedestrian deck makes walking comfortable. On the other hand, if you start from Sundam Gate, you'll encounter many uphill steps, so many people start from the Durny Gate. There are a total of 10 viewpoint rest areas along the entire jando-gil trail.

Dumulmeori is one of the most scenic destinations in Yangpyeong. The name Dumulmeori literally means “the head of two waters,” referring to the place where the North Han River and South Han River meet to form the Han River. Surrounded by calm waters, lush greenery, and beautiful mountains, Dumulmeori offers a peaceful escape from the city. One of its most iconic sights is the old zelkova tree standing beside the river, which has become a symbol of the area. The scenery changes beautifully with the seasons. Spring brings fresh greenery, summer is filled with lotus flowers, autumn creates colorful foliage, and winter offers a quiet, misty landscape. Early morning is especially beautiful when mist rises above the river.
