Positano is the most popular town on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, known all over the world for the moda positano, the vibrant nightlife and the characteristic shops. If you are looking for colorful clothes or typical Italian sandals, you can't miss the shopping in Positano. Positano is a breathtakingly beautiful city that is well worth exploring. From its sweeping views to its rich culture and history, there is something for everyone in this fantastic Italian destination.
Spiaggia Grande is the heart of Positano's waterfront. Spanning 300 meters, this beach is one of the largest on the Amalfi Coast, as well as one of the most glamorous, attracting a fashionable crowd of artists, actors, and celebrities.
Those looking for a more peaceful spot in which to bask in the Mediterranean sun will love Positano's Fornillo beach, which can be reached via a footpath that sets off from Spiaggia Grande.
Legend has it that the three islets of Li Galli, set just off the shores of Positano and often referred to as the "Sirenuse," were inhabited by Sirens who attempted to seduce with their song all those who sailed nearby.
Perhaps the most famous of those to have been enchanted by the islets' mysterious beauty is the ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, who spent the last years of his life here.
If you're driving from the west, Positano is the first town you'll come across on the Amalfi Coast.
The town is approximately a 75-minute drive from Naples and 20 minutes from Sorrento. You can also get to Positano via one of the buses run by the Sita coach company, and in the summer months, by boat.

The Port of Marina Piccola - Sorrento is the ideal landing place for those who want to admire the beauty of the Sorrento Peninsula from a central and privileged position.
Easily accessible from the city center and close to the renowned Piazza Tasso, the port of Marina Piccola-Sorrento is one of the best-known landing places for tourists arriving in Campania.
This is not only due to the fame of the city, but also to the fact that many of the ferries and tourist boats depart from this area to Capri and the Amalfi Coast .
The landing place consists of an inner breakwater, a smaller inner breakwater which houses a dock where pleasure boats are housed, and a quay.
Maritime traffic is intense all year round. It is therefore advisable to pay attention to other units in transit during entry and exit manoeuvres.
Even when navigating near the port area, you need to pay attention to the routes followed by tourist ferries and the boats that enter the port area and those that leave it.
The marina of Marina Piccola offers yachtsmen a wide range of services , including a food shop for replenishing the galley, a pleasure craft rental point and a taxi service.
In the immediate vicinity of the port area it is possible to find a few restaurants and a good number of bathing establishments.
The fact of being in the heart of the historic center allows you to quickly go back to the city streets and thus find supermarkets and other catering outlets, bars, hotels, shops, historical monuments and various places of interest.

The Bagni della Regina Giovanna are located on the promontory of Punta Capo in Sorrento , to be precise they are located on the coast of the Marine Protected Area of Punta Campanella . It is a magnificent natural pool a few steps from the center of Sorrento, a small natural oasis .
The Baths are also an archaeological site characterized by history and nature, the remains of the villa of Pollio Felice are surrounded by a crazy sea and crystal clear water.
The Baths are located near the villa of Pollio Felice , a Roman patrician from the 1st century BC. The Villa was immense, consisting of about 30,000 m2, but unfortunately today it is only possible to admire the ruins. The poet Horace and the poet Stazio also narrated the magnificence of the villa.
The name of the Baths derives from Queen Giovanna II of Anjou-Durres. In fact it is said that in the period from 1371 to 1435 her queen loved to spend the summer in Sorrento and that she spent her time with her lovers right in the waters of Capo di Sorrento.
Entrance to the Bagni della Regina Giovanna is free , but subject to restrictions at any time of the year. The ideal period to take a dip in the natural pools present there is certainly June - July. In August it gets very crowded.
The archaeological site is open every day from 8:00am to 20:00pm
- Directions -
The baths of Regina Giovanna can only be reached on foot via an excursion of about 25-30 minutes or by sea.
By car, moped and bus it is possible to reach the closest non-pedestrian point. At Traversa Punta Capo you will find a private paid parking (there is a small sign on the left) for cars and mopeds. Don't park your moped on the street, parking is prohibited.
The route begins in Traversa Punta Capo in Sorrento and you will recognize the access from a small gate and an epigraph that dedicates the street to the Southernist Giuliano Salvemini.

Magically suspended between the blue sky and the iridescent colored sea, the Amalfi coast seems to be born from the palette of a painter who wanted to use the warmer color gradients for creating a landscape that enchants the visitor at the first shot, giving thrilling experience and such evocative view to doubt, for a moment, it is real. It is the land where the sweet scent of lemon blossoms harmonizes itself with the most aromatic one of the Mediterranean vegetation and the acrid aroma of saltiness; where the brilliant colors of the majolica domes, bougainvillea and carnations pergolas give an evident colored touch to the typical whitewashed houses, clinging to the last offshoots of the Lattari Mounts that plunge dramatically into the sea. A vertical landscape, in short, characterized by a picturesque labyrinth of stairways and narrow alleys, connecting the two main elements of this landscape: the mountains and the sea. A continuous succession of headlands and inlets, bays and fjords, interspersed with pebbled beaches and rocks on which you can still see the ancient viceregal towers, the first bulwark of the local population against the Saracen attacks. The shift from the sea to mountain is seamless: the mountain sides were terraced over the centuries, shaped by human labor to create flaps of arable land and already compared, during the Renaissance period, to the legendary Hesperides by the Italian writer and naturalist Giambattista Della Porta. All the towns of the Amalfi coast are connected by the scenic SS. 163 road, built in the first half of the XIX century during the Bourbon period and always considered one of the most beautiful road in Italy. Following the natural course of the coastline, the route is full of curves, nestled between the rock and the sea cliffs, giving new and spectacular shots at the exit of every tunnel or hairpin bend. Before the construction of the coastal road, locals reached all the towns via mule tracks and footpaths, still existing and particularly appreciated by trekking lovers for the stunning views that can be enjoyed.

Capri is pure romance, dramatic views, the bluest ocean you’ve ever seen, even the scent of lemon blossoms in the air. The luminescent Blue Grotto, striking Faraglioni Rocks and the Palazzo al Mare are popular with travelers, but for a real treat, snorkel at Marina Piccola beach. It’s said to be the spot where Odysseus nearly succumbed to the Sirens’ song, a fitting legend for this alluring island.
The Blue Grotto(cave) is the most famous sight on Capri, but the long wait at the cave entrance means that many boat tours skip a stop here. With this tour, set sail first thing in the morning to beat the crowds and cut wait times to a minimum. After taking in the grotto, enjoy a boat tour around the island with stops to swim and free time to explore on land.

Cinque Terre, the five towns, is a string of five old fishing villages perched high on the Italian Riviera in the region Liguria, which until recently were linked only by mule tracks and accessible only by rail or water.
The best way to explore the five villages is to hike along this scenic coastline. You can also take the train or the ferry boat from one village to the next.
"Monterosso" is the largest of the Cinque Terre villages. Here you will find a long sandy beach, bars and restaurants. This is the only flat village offering a wide range of hotels and lovely guesthouses near the beach.
"Vernazza" is a charming village with a tiny port surrounded by typical colorful Ligurian houses, seafood restaurants and bars.
"Corniglia", in the heart of Cinque Terre, is ideal for hikers and nature lovers. Situated on a promontory overlooking the sea and surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
"Manarola", picturesque village with its tiny harbor filled with colorful boats, perfect place for sunbathing. Spectacular sea views.
"Riomaggiore" is one of the most romantic places to stay in Cinque Terre, perfect for couples. Lovely harbor, amazing atmosphere during sunset.
The Cinque Terre is noted for its beauty. Over centuries, people have carefully built terraces to cultivate grapes and olives on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the Mediterranean Sea.
