Positano is the most popular town on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, known all over the world for the moda positano, the vibrant nightlife and the characteristic shops. If you are looking for colorful clothes or typical Italian sandals, you can't miss the shopping in Positano. Positano is a breathtakingly beautiful city that is well worth exploring. From its sweeping views to its rich culture and history, there is something for everyone in this fantastic Italian destination.
Spiaggia Grande is the heart of Positano's waterfront. Spanning 300 meters, this beach is one of the largest on the Amalfi Coast, as well as one of the most glamorous, attracting a fashionable crowd of artists, actors, and celebrities.
Those looking for a more peaceful spot in which to bask in the Mediterranean sun will love Positano's Fornillo beach, which can be reached via a footpath that sets off from Spiaggia Grande.
Legend has it that the three islets of Li Galli, set just off the shores of Positano and often referred to as the "Sirenuse," were inhabited by Sirens who attempted to seduce with their song all those who sailed nearby.
Perhaps the most famous of those to have been enchanted by the islets' mysterious beauty is the ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, who spent the last years of his life here.
If you're driving from the west, Positano is the first town you'll come across on the Amalfi Coast.
The town is approximately a 75-minute drive from Naples and 20 minutes from Sorrento. You can also get to Positano via one of the buses run by the Sita coach company, and in the summer months, by boat.

The Bagni della Regina Giovanna are located on the promontory of Punta Capo in Sorrento , to be precise they are located on the coast of the Marine Protected Area of Punta Campanella . It is a magnificent natural pool a few steps from the center of Sorrento, a small natural oasis .
The Baths are also an archaeological site characterized by history and nature, the remains of the villa of Pollio Felice are surrounded by a crazy sea and crystal clear water.
The Baths are located near the villa of Pollio Felice , a Roman patrician from the 1st century BC. The Villa was immense, consisting of about 30,000 m2, but unfortunately today it is only possible to admire the ruins. The poet Horace and the poet Stazio also narrated the magnificence of the villa.
The name of the Baths derives from Queen Giovanna II of Anjou-Durres. In fact it is said that in the period from 1371 to 1435 her queen loved to spend the summer in Sorrento and that she spent her time with her lovers right in the waters of Capo di Sorrento.
Entrance to the Bagni della Regina Giovanna is free , but subject to restrictions at any time of the year. The ideal period to take a dip in the natural pools present there is certainly June - July. In August it gets very crowded.
The archaeological site is open every day from 8:00am to 20:00pm
- Directions -
The baths of Regina Giovanna can only be reached on foot via an excursion of about 25-30 minutes or by sea.
By car, moped and bus it is possible to reach the closest non-pedestrian point. At Traversa Punta Capo you will find a private paid parking (there is a small sign on the left) for cars and mopeds. Don't park your moped on the street, parking is prohibited.
The route begins in Traversa Punta Capo in Sorrento and you will recognize the access from a small gate and an epigraph that dedicates the street to the Southernist Giuliano Salvemini.
